About raw denim specialist American made jeans brand Williamsburg Garment Company
Based in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York, Williamsburg Garment Company (WGC) began as a one-man company with a clear, focused vision: To be the world's favorite American denim brand. WGC specializes in raw denim American made jeans.
Created by veteran fashion designer and brand owner Maurice Malone in 2011 after taking his own advice that he would often give to aspiring designers; "start small and grow." Maurice Malone is regarded as one of the world’s top denim designers for his innovation and roots in the industry and has been interviewed about his leadership in a multitude of articles, including Fast Company's “The Rise, Fall, And Rise Of The Steve Jobs Of Denim."
Malone is also the inventor of the world's best used wash-processes for creating authentic looking aged jeans, which are used in denim wash factories throughout the world today. In the early 1990's, he was one of the founding fathers of Urban/Hip Hop fashion, through his creation of the fashion labels Maurice Malone Designs, MoJeans, and the revolutionary clothing store and rap battle hot spot, The Hip Hop Shop - which contributed to the inspiration behind the 2002 movie, 8 Mile, featuring Eminem.
WGC is building a new legacy with jeans made in the U.S.A that appeal to everyone - from kids riding skateboards, to financiers on Wall Street. Williamsburg Garment Company specializes in raw denim, offering a wide range of sizes including Big and Tall jeans. Men's waist sizes range from 28 to 50, women's from 24 to 32 and tall jeans with 38 inch and 40 inch inseams are also stocked. Williamsburg jeans are constructed using the highest-grade sewing techniques: Lap-seams at the seat and inseams, with chain-stitching throughout, all primarily made with high-quality denim from Cone Mills, America’s oldest and most recognized producer of denim.
Inspired by President Barack Obama's call to bring more manufacturing back to the U.S.A, in the spring of 2013 WGC launched the Hope Street jeans, Williamsburg's first "Made in the U.S.A" jeans. Since 2014, WGC has grown to be recognized as a high quality producer of American made jeans at attractive prices. As an ode to the neighborhood, each fit bears the name of a Brooklyn street.
